Welcome to Inua ᐃᓄᐊ Counselling & Support Services!

Inua is an Indigenous-owned practice open to all people, regardless of race, religion, or orientation. Inua offers a variety of unique, client-centered support services that can be tailored to meet your needs.

In Inuit mythology, inua refers to a spirit that exists within every part of nature - in people, animals, plants, lakes, and even in mountains. Inua is not an individual soul, but rather a life force shared by all the individual spirits of a particular genus - in the past, present, and future.

Inua's services are provided with recognition of that shared life force, and honour the dignity and worth of all beings.

In Reconciliation:

Inua's commitment to reconciliation starts with taking this opportunity to acknowledge our honour and privilege to live and work within the Treaty 7 territory. Inua acknowledges the traditional and ancestral territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Piikani, and the Kainai Nations), the Tsuut’ina, and the Stoney Nakoda (Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley First Nations). In addition, Inua acknowledges that the City of Calgary is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. Finally, Inua acknowledges all nations, genders and spirits who live, work and play in the Treaty 7 Region of Southern Alberta, who help us steward this land, and honour and celebrate this territory.
